
Manner of speaking:
I sometime read and focus on a script when I don’t remember what I will say next step. I try to say every word in lesson plan, so it makes me not influent in speaking. I think I have eye contact and keep smiling when I teach but my gesture is not good, from friends’ comment, I have movement all the time and my foot touches the desk, also it makes students annoyed my gesture.
Visual aids:
From my visual aids, they are appropriate size and colorful. I have a lot of pictures to present but some is not clear enough. The major problem of visual aids is blue color. Although I prepare my presentation well and use 2-3 pictures in describing a situation, I forget to use in some situation due to pictures which I myself confuse. Besides, I use paper puppet to present but I switch, don’t put on the board. It makes students have a little confused. Moreover, I don’t prepare on the board.
Comprehensibility:
From friends’ comment, I think I give them more detail and enough information to understand each situation. I also use easy vocabulary and simple structure to describe, but I don’t indicate how must and have to have in common or share the similarity. Besides, I don’t let students change form of structure and subjects.
Techniques:
I think my presentation stage is not good enough because I myself confused using paper puppet in third situation presented dialogue. Moreover, I use both many pictures and drawing picture on the board, so it can be confused due to my using media. I also don’t transfer another structure (have to) to students to check their understanding more.
Ways to improve my teaching:
I have to comprehend situations, not memorize it makes me speak naturally. Second, I should not more too much. Use clear pictures and try to use fewer pictures, by meant one picture can be used in 2-3 situations. Moreover, I myself have to prepare to use visual aids and the board well, and try to use easy word or simple structure. For me again, I think I must select clear pictures and prepare using media.
